things and stuff

guess what? i already received a letter from my safety school informing me of my acceptance. AND that i've been awarded a small (quite small) "Director's Scholarship for Smart and Kewl Peepz.*" *may not be called that. so that's a weight off.

also friday was my 1 month mark of being a courier. and today to celebrate i fell off my bike for seemingly no reason. in front of a lot of people at a busy intersection. don't worry I'm fine except for a few bruises, which to be honest, I welcome. I was beginning to forget that a badass courier is supposed to be like all burly and covered in battle scars from riding the mean streetz. i'm like a ninja you guys. a bike ninja.

appropos, i signed up for short-term health insurance. I found out my college offers a cheap deal to alumni which is good since my dad has been riding me to get insurance ever since one of his former boy scouts (he was my brother's troop leader. shut up) fell off a cliff while snowboarding and now has a traumatic brain injury. so now when i do something like today's cute little maneuver but with more bones broken, I will be no less likely to sustain a traumatic brain injury but it will cost less.

aaaaand of course i'm still cooking and eating a lot of delicious food like this.

holiday celebrate

i did 3 runs today all morning then checked the eff out at 1pm. they each paid the holiday rate though which is 1.5x the normal commission so i earned like $15 today. and i got home in time to catch one tree hill and eat leftover apple pie so what do i care.


you know what else? I TURNED IN ALL MY GRAD SCHOOL APPLICATIONS. Abby didn't I see you frantically mailing your last one to GW like 5 minutes before they switched the postmarking stamp over to Sunday? MAYBE YOU DID BUT IT'S DONE NOW SO I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING YOU SAY. now no one talk to me about grad school until further notice which will be my next all caps post announcing where i've been rejected from.

also, I watched Suicide Club on valentines day. this movie is fucked. up. catchy soundtrack tho.

some of my favorite things

i really like the movie crazy people a lot. its about an ad exec in the 80's played by dudley moore who has a meltdown and goes to a mental institution and gets all the crazies to help him write ads and they are really successful because their ads are so honest.


i also like this movie because i have the sense of humor of a mental patient who is also in elementary school. anything with physical comedy and or funny sounds or faces, slays me.

indian winter

I have become an amateur weatherman now that I have to dress for the weather every single day. you want to know the weather in DC? i'll tell you the weather in DC. its 67 degrees outside today and its going to be in the 50s and 60s all week. last friday it said it was going to rain on Tuesday but that prediction is now gone and now it just says it'll be kind of cloudy. that's like a big difference if you wear plastic pants and bags over your socks expecting rain and all it is is cloudy and 60 degrees and then you have to ride around all day in a hotbox sweating like a disgusting hobo.

my parents are coming to visit tonight for 3 days.
